| Beginning as children, most of us begin to form our idea
of the perfect dog by assembling in our mind all the best attributes from dogs
we've encountered along the way.
As we're older we yearn for the
perfect dog that is so real in our mind. It's often disappointing dealing with
the reality that our perfect dog is only a mental composite, a figment of our
imaginations.
Though Ruby and I traveled different paths before they
crossed, when she appeared before me with a slobbery ball in her mouth, it
wasn't our first meeting at all.
She is the dog that lived in my heart
and mind for so many years. |
